about-imgThe journey of Manjusha silk started in 2017, when Divya and Her husband came up with the idea of showcasing the authentic Tussar silk sarees of Bhagalpur through a store in Delhi NCR/Ghaziabad. They contacted the local silk weavers of Bhagalpur for the supply of Tussar silk sarees.

Manjusha, a folk art of Bhagalpur reminds us of our roots. It is believed to be the only art form in India which has a sequential representation of the story and is displayed in series. It has been dated back to the 7th century. This art originated from a folk art the Ang region displaying the significance of Bishari Puja.

The Silk City of Bihar, Bhagalpur is one of the leading producers of Tussar Silk (also known as Bhagalpur Silk).The tussar silk weaving industry in Bhagalpur, more than a century old, has about 30,000 handloom weavers working on some 25,000 handlooms. The total value of annual trade is around Rs. 100 crores, about half of which comes from exports.

The range of Manjusha silk mainly focuses on the Tussar Silk sarees, the speciality of Bhagalpur. We have silk sarees and duppatas with Manjusha as well as Madhubani arts. We also sell Tussar Silk fabric.

Our range of Sarees and duppatas consists of the famous work of the other states of India. Banarsi Sarees of Uttar Pradesh. The famous Taat and Jamdani sarees of West Bengal. Kanjivaram from Tamil Nadu. From the state of Rajasthan we have Kota Doria, Kota Silk sarees and Bagru prints, Sangneri print sarees and suit pieces. From Andhra Pradesh we have Kalamkari sarees, suit piece and duppatas. From Madhya Pradesh we have Chanderi and Maheshwari silk sarees and suit pieces. Mysore silk, Silk cotton and Banglore silk from Karnataka.

Every Manjusha Silk product has a special journey as well and many of the products take weeks of dedicated work and immense craftsmanship before they are ready. The process of weaving every saree is a celebration of centuries of tradition and the authenticity of Indian arts.
